Slipknot: Shawn “Clown” Crahan’s daughter dies at age 22

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Last Sunday, the 19th, Slipknot shared sad news on their social media involving percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan . Gabrielle Crahan , the musician's 22-year-old daughter, passed away.

"It is with a broken heart and amidst much sorrow that I inform everyone that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away yesterday — Saturday, May 18, 2019. She was 22 years old. Funeral information will follow soon. My family and I ask that our privacy be respected from now on. Thank you. Much love, Clown."

The cause of death was not revealed. Besides Clown, Alexandria and Simon Crahan , his eldest children, also mourned the loss. “Today is the hardest day of my life,” said Simon, “I’m confused, angry, sad… We were like best friends, we had a special bond and now you’re not here anymore. I love you, Gabri, and I know you’ll always know that.”

Alexandria shared a text saying: “Yesterday my younger sister, Gabrielle, passed away. I am in shock and have no idea how to process the wave of emotions I am feeling. The comfort I have in moments like this is my family, friends, and my cats. Please send good energy to my parents and siblings. This loss has left a huge hole and our lives will never be the same again. 22 is too young to die.”

Corey Taylor , vocalist of Slipknot and Clown's colleague, took to Twitter to pay tribute: “My heart is broken for my brother. Please keep the Crahan family in your thoughts and love. She will be missed.”

The news comes two days after the group's performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live , where "Unsainted" and "All Out Life" were played for the first time.
